From Paul Denning, Chairman of Selectors:

A number of players will be seeing this divison simply as a trials mechanism. However, the WBU feel that the league as a whole is
designed to offer a learning opportunity to players at all levels. So during the event please feel free to share you views on hands with other players. Let’s try to raise the standard of Welsh Bridge.
Here is a basic framework for us to start.

To be a qualified pair both players must be WBU members, eligible to represent Wales and they must play in at least half of the matches. The results will normally produce two, three or four pairs who are guaranteed a Camrose weekend. The Selectors will choose the teams for the two Camrose weekends around those pairs and they may bring in other pairs bearing in mind performance of pairs over the past two years with the League being one of the main considerations when doing that. If pairs wish to submit CV’s to the Selectors to remind us of their results during the past two years then they are welcome to do so. Teams may suggest other ideas for the selection criteria for consideration, but the final decision on this will be made by the Welsh Selectors.
