The Seniors Camrose 2008

This new event, the home internationals for players with bus passes, was held in the Oxford Spires hotel in Oxford from 30 May to 1 June 2008.

It was a very good weekend. The bridge was a high standard, the organisation was immaculate, the atmosphere was always friendly and courteous, and the hotel did us proud

Wales was represented by Patrick Jourdain & Mike Tedd, Mike Hirst & Jim Luck, and Paul Gagne and Liam Sheridan, with Peter Hand as NPC. We took a while to get started, losing the first five of the ten matches, but then winning four and drawing the last match. We were the only team to beat the runaway winners, England, who fielded three of their Open team for Pau. So we finished third equal with Scotland ahead of the two Irish teams. The strong Patron's team was second.

The detailed results can be seen on the EBU website. There are lots of fine pictures taken by Ireland's Paul J Scannell on his website.
