Welsh National League 2015-16
Entries are now invited for the second running of the Welsh National League.
The League will run over a similar format to last year with a Premier Division being run over the two weekends 17-18 October and 31 October-1 November. The Premier Division will continue as our main means of selecting our teams for the home international (Camrose) series. Next year, Wales (as hosts for the second weekend) will have a Wales and a WBU team in the Camrose. To reflect this, all qualified pairs from the winning team and also the team that finishes second will be guaranteed at least one Camrose weekend. There will also be a place available for the pair that performs best on cross IMP comparisons. All players that compete in the Premier Division will need to be eligible to represent Wales.
Divisions One and Two will continue on an area basis with teams arranging matches locally. Last year we had successful divisions run in the West and East areas. This year we hope to receive entries from the North and Mid Wales areas so that divisions may be formed to make this event country wide. Promotion and relegation is a normal part of the league including into and out of the Premier Division.

Contact Me!
Mike Tedd has looked after this WBU web site since 2006. Now, in August 2015, I am passing on the responsibility. Neville plans to merge the two sites.
I intend to spend more time on the history of the WBU, though, and would very much appreciate any contributions that you can send me. I have annual journals going back to 1968-9; do you have older ones? I know very little about bridge in Wales in the 1930s and would like to know more. Tidying up records of past competitions is also on my agenda. See here how I am getting on.
